Podiatry ultrasound in Geelong and Colac
At Prosper Health, we offer in-clinic podiatry ultrasound at both our Geelong and Colac locations to help you get a clear and immediate diagnosis. Also known as Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), this technology allows our podiatrists to assess soft tissue and musculoskeletal structures in real time, giving you answers without the wait.
POCUS is a portable, non-invasive imaging tool that delivers high-resolution images during your consultation. Whether you're dealing with heel pain, tendon issues, or inflammation, foot diagnostic imaging helps confirm what’s happening beneath the surface, right then and there.

Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) is a dynamic form of imaging that gives your clinician immediate feedback on your condition. Unlike traditional scans that require off-site appointments and delays, POCUS is performed onsite during your podiatry appointment. It’s particularly effective for assessing foot and ankle injuries, chronic soft tissue conditions, and joint inflammation.
Onsite foot diagnosis imaging
POCUS uses high-frequency sound waves delivered through a handheld transducer. When placed on the skin, the device sends sound waves into the body and captures their echoes to produce a live image of tendons, ligaments, fascia, and other structures. This real-time view allows us to identify inflammation, tears, and other abnormalities with speed and accuracy.Because your scan and diagnosis occur in the same session, we can start building your treatment plan without delay.
If you’re experiencing ongoing pain or suspect a soft tissue injury, in-clinic podiatry ultrasound at Prosper Health can provide the clarity you need. We offer detailed foot diagnostic imaging in Geelong and Colac with immediate clinical insight.

Ultrasound frequently asked questions
Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is an ultrasound device that allows dynamic diagnostic imaging to be undertaken within a clinical setting. A high resolution non-invasive imaging technology which allows real time diagnosis and assessment of soft tissue and musculoskeletal concerns. A referral for further diagnostic imaging will be given if our podiatrists feel a patient would benefit.
POCUS allows our podiatrists to dynamically assess the foot and ankle within a consult. We have access to real-time imaging which provides the patient and clinician with immediate visual feedback aiding to accurate and often quicker diagnosis of musculoskeletal and soft tissue injuries sooner.
POCUS is also used within the clinic for ultrasound guided injection therapy and aspirations. See our injection therapy page for more information on this.
